Stonum Vineyards Winery is located on the east side of the Mokelumne River viticulture area, the oldest grape growing region in Lodi. Their peaceful niche is ideal for growing Zinfandel grapes. Stonum Vineyards is blessed with deep, well-drained, loamy-sand soil, as well as warm days and cool, breezy nights. Their family takes great pride in creating handcrafted, barrel select, estate produced Zinfandel. Capturing the intense flavors and complexity, while preserving the balance and integrity of the fruit, is their goal as artisan winemakers. As winegrowers since 1979, Stonum's two guiding principles have been to produce premium Zinfandel grapes and to employ viticultural practices that are environmentally safe, responsible and sustainable. The same devotion and passion that they have for farming was extended to winemaking with the opening of their winery in 2011. Their environmentally friendly winery has a unique temperature control system that utilizes Lodi’s cool nights to maintain optimal temperatures in the winery with a minimum amount of energy usage. They further minimize their “footprint” by barrel aging their wines in an underground cellar. All phases of winemaking, from growing the grapes to bottling the wine are carried out at their estate winery with attention to detail and quality. Visit the Tasting Room! Call for hours.
